Trinidad and Tobago were on the wrong end of a 4-2 defeat against Mexico in the Pan American Cup group stage match and with 2 losses, they’re out of contention to advance to the knockout stages.
Mexico would score first but Trinidad and Tobago would tie it up early in the 2nd period after Teague Marcano slapped home a goal from a penalty corner.
Mexico, however, would respond with 3 straight unanswered goals to put the game out of reach for T&T. They would score a consolation goal mere seconds from the end of the game when Jordan Vieira steals the ball and delivers it to Joel Daniel who puts it comfortably for T&T’s 2nd goal.
The Mens’ team face off against Canada on Monday for their final game of the tournament. The Women’s team face off against Canada as well on Sunday where a win would see them through to the knockout stages.
