Jabari Narcis signs to Capitanes in G League

Trinidad and Tobago basketball player Jabari Narcis has been signed to the newest member of the NBA G League, the Capitanes de Ciudad de México.

Narcis, a 6’9″ combo big man, was recently playing for Palencia Baloncesto in the LEB Oro in Spain, after spending 2 years playing collegiately at the University of Texas-Arlington. He averaged 4.7 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.2 blocks per game while averaging only 10.6 minutes per game.

Narcis plays as a stretch forward who can occasionally play center. He’s shown to be very efficient at shooting the 3 point shot, averaging a 42% clip from distance even in his little playing time. His best shooting performance came against Ourense where he went 5-7 from deep. He had 21 points total in that game.

It’s unclear still when he will be available to play for the Capitanes as of this point. He practiced with the team ahead of their game against the Lakeland Magic. They’ll play the Magic this upcoming Thursday.

With the signing, Trinbagonians now have more reason to watch G League games with Narcis suiting up for the Capitanes and Johnny Hamilton playing for the College Park Skyhawks.
