Trinidad and Tobago National Hockey team have booked their spot in the 2022 Pan American Cup with the win over Paraguay. The match ended 1-1 and TTO edged Paraguay 4-3 via a penalty shootout.
TTO took the lead in the 3rd quarter through a penalty corner. Amie Olton teed up Shaniah De Freitas who delivered a powerful strike from the top of the circle in order to give TTO the lead!
Paraguay ended up equalizing and at the end of 4 periods it was 1-1 which meant that the game had to be decided via a penalty shootout. Arressia Sandy had 3 saves in the shootout and Brianna Govia put the game away with a brilliant display of ball-control to get around the keeper to seal the win!
Trinidad and Tobago will face off against tournament hosts Peru in the Final at 4pm local time on Saturday (tomorrow)
