Trinidad and Tobago’s efforts to get a win in Pool A of the Men’s NORCECA Continental Championship were all for naught as Puerto Rico gets the win in straight sets 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-18) to advance to the Quarterfinals. T&T finishing pool A with an 0-3 record, will be playing for places 5th-8th in their next set of game(s).
Puerto Rico essentially dominated in almost every facet of the game, whether it be in attacks (48-23), blocks(4-1) and serves (5-2). However, Trinidad and Tobago keeps trending positively when it comes to committing fewer errors than their opponent. With an 18-25 advantage, its their third straight game doing this.

Daynte Stewart led the way in scoring for Trinidad and Tobago with a match-high of 14 points. Theodore Joel added 5 more points towards their efforts. Pelegrín Vargas led the way in scoring for Puerto Rico with 11 points, all on kills. Gabriel García, contributed with 10 points.
T&T captain Ryan Stewart on today’s game said, “We came out here to do the best. We’re finishing the preliminary round getting better as a team with each performance; we were more into the game and now we only need to be consistent in every aspect of the game.”
