Nicholas Paul and Njisane Phillip gave Trinidad and Tobago something to be proud of yesterday.
Both riders followed up their gold medal performances in the Men’s Team Sprint on Friday event by taking gold and silver in the Men’s Individual Sprint yesterday. Paul clocked in his gold medal time of 10.645 secs. while Njisane timed in at 10.936 secs.


Only two countries in the history of the Pan American Games, Argentina and the United States, have ever had two cyclists compete for the gold medal in the Men’s Individual Sprint. Trinidad and Tobago could now add their name to that list.
Trinidad and Tobago have now collected 4 medals at the Pan Am Games: two gold medals and a silver in cycling events and Michael Alexander’s bronze medal in boxing.
