Johnny Hamilton Signs With Turkish Club

Trinidad and Tobago born basketball player Johnny Hamilton will be taking his talents to Turkey, signing a deal with Turkish club Darüssafaka Tefken Basketbol, announced by the team yesterday on Twitter

Johnny Hamilton went undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft coming out of UT Arlington and also playing for Virginia Tech and Jacksonville College. He signed to the Detroit Pistons, and played for their G League affiliate Grand Rapids Drive.

The 7’0″ 230 Lb. big man born in Rio Claro played 49 games for the Grand Rapids Drive, averaging 11.2 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.4 blocks and 1.3 assists in 24.3 minutes played per game and played an important role in the G-League playoffs.

Darüssafaka Tefken will be getting a quality shot blocker and enforcer on the defensive end of the court. Very mobile as well. He also attacks the offensive glass averaging 3.8 offensive boards; per 36 minutes that number rises to 5.6. He’s also very good around the basket averaging 57% from the field.
