Kevin Molino is back on the scoresheet!
The Minnesota United and Trinidad and Tobago midfielder scored his first goal of the 2019 MLS season IN A 2-3 loss against visitors Philadelphia Union.
Molino started on the bench this week after he missed last week’s game against Atlanta United because of a tight hamstring he picked up in a friendly against Hertha Berlin the week before. He was later subbed on in the 69th minute for Darwin Quintero.
Later on in the 78th minute. Molino received a pass into the box by Abu Danladi from the touchline. The ball pops up and then he delivered a half-volley that tied the game up at that point.
This is Kevin Molino’s first goal since the brace he scored in the first game of the 2018 season. This is also a welcome sight for the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association and head coach, Dennis Lawrence. Molino was recently named in the 40-man provisional roster for the Gold Cup and a goal like that heading into the pre-tournament friendlies this month could only help him regain his confidence ahead of the Gold Cup.
We hope to see more goals in the future for Kevin Molino!
