Minnesota United FC get their first win of the 2018 MLS season with a win against Adrian Heath and Kevin Molino’s former club, Orlando City SC.
Molino got his first assist on the year in the 11th minute with a flick into the box to a wide open Ethan Finlay. The winger then casually chips the keeper to get the Loons on top early.
A controversial penalty awarded to the Lions after a foul decision turned penalty by the referee after VAR review. OCSC midfielder Yoshimar Yotún converted the kick, evening the score 1-1
Finlay would go on to score another goal off an assist from Miguel Ibarra to notch the 2-1 win over the Lions.
The Trinidad and Tobago midfield player would see trouble later on in the match as he would go down in the 36th minute after colliding with a Lions player, hitting his knee in the process. He was treated and came back on the field to finish the half.
Later in the 2nd half however, as he tried to reach for the ball, he went down again with a non-contact injury to his left ankle. He would be later be relieved of playing as Collen Warner would take his place in the 51st minute. According to MNUFC’s official website, he would be assessed today.
Usually non-contact injuries mean trouble but hopefully the news isn’t too bad and he’ll be fit to play next week on St. Patrick’s Day against the Chicago Fire. Highlight’s from yesterday’s match can be viewed below.
